The INOVA Awards from the Urban Development Institute of Québec (UDI) reward the talent of those who contribute and enhance Québec’s expertise in real estate. These awards honour innovative projects which have a positive impact on their community.

Within the Multi-Residential (over $50 million) category, developer Broccolini Construction Inc. was recognized for their submission L’Avenue. The design of L’Avenue was delivered by IBI Group’s Mansoor Kazerouni, and his Toronto-based team: Stephen Hood, Calin Caliman, Titka Seddighi, Paul Strain, Mei Zhou and Peter Chiu.

The mixed-use building includes 304 condominium units, a supermarket, and four floors of office space. The stepped tower form is a contemporary interpretation of a traditional New York tower that artfully tapers towards the top as it ascends 50 floors. The combination of the tapered top and the skewed façades on its south face has created an iconic and instantly recognizable silhouette in the Montréal skyline.

INOVA noted, “the towering L’Avenue is a fine example of intelligent urban densification – bringing dynamism and youth to a part of downtown Montréal that has long been neglected.”

L’Avenue combines retail, office and residential in a single development in an exciting, accessible urban environment, making it a highly desirable address to live and play in. The choice of materials, formal disposition and attention to detail have distinguished it as a signature project.
